Your session, and the questions after it
About 20 minutes of play, then 7 questions. Honest and specific beats polite every time.
This is the whole brief. If you have been offered a place, everything you need is on this page — read it, play, then find your application at the bottom and submit. If you are reading before applying, this is what you would be agreeing to.
Before you start
- Start a new game in an empty save slot. Do not look up the controls, watch a video or ask anyone — working out what the game teaches badly is the whole point, and getting stuck is a result, not a failure.
- Play for about 20 minutes. Breaks do not count.
- Before you finish, open the marketplace and take a screenshot showing the value of what you have found — at least $10 in the game's own money. That screenshot is the proof of play. A short clip is welcome but optional.
- If you are stuck at any point, message the developer on Discord. He will walk you through it, and it does not affect your payment.
- Then quit to the hub and come back into the same save once, so we learn whether your progress returns.
The questions
Answer in your own words, as long or short as you like. There are no right answers and nothing is scored — a sentence that says "I had no idea what the pickaxe was for" is worth more to us than a paragraph of praise.
- What did you think you were supposed to do first?
- Where did you get confused, and what did you try next?
- How did detecting and digging feel? Describe anything awkward or satisfying.
- What was your most satisfying discovery or moment?
- Was there a point where you wanted to stop? What caused it?
- Did you experience discomfort, difficulty reaching objects, unreadable text or technical problems?
- Would you voluntarily play again? What would you want to do next?
The marketplace screenshot
The proof of play is one screenshot: the marketplace, showing at least $10 of finds in the game's own money. Twenty minutes is plenty to get there — and if it isn't, that is exactly what Discord is for.
- With the marketplace open, press the Meta button, open Camera, and choose Take photo. The controller shortcut is Meta button + trigger.
- Open the Meta Horizon app on your phone → Gallery. The screenshot syncs over Wi-Fi in a minute or two.
- Share it from there to Google Drive, Dropbox, or any image host, and paste the link on this page. A link anyone with it can open is all we need. A clip goes the same way — YouTube as Unlisted works well — if you want to add one.
If you get stuck
Message the developer on Discord. He will walk you through whatever has you stuck — that is useful to him, it costs you nothing, and it does not affect your payment.
Submitting
Everything is submitted here, on this page: your answers, the screenshot link, and the PayPal account the US$10 goes to. You have a week from receiving access. Payment is sent within 48 hours of your submission arriving, and it does not depend on whether you liked the game. If something is missing you will be emailed exactly what, and you can come back here and update your submission with the same reference and email.
